Booking the elevator early
The newer apartment communities around Cary and Morrisville require a reserved freight elevator and often a certificate of insurance from the mover. Booking slots near the end of the month disappear fast, so reserve yours as soon as your date is set.
We stage boxes near the elevator and keep a mover at each end so the reserved window is used efficiently rather than burned waiting on a single trip.
Loading zones and parking
Some Triangle apartment buildings have a marked loading zone with a time limit, while others expect the truck to use visitor parking and carry furniture farther. We ask the leasing office about this during the estimate so it is not a surprise on move day.
Buildings near downtown Cary and Durham sometimes require advance notice to the property manager, which we handle once you give us the address.
Stairs and walk-ups
Older apartment complexes without elevators mean stair carries, and we plan the crew size for that rather than pricing it as if it were ground-level access.
Narrow stairwells and tight turns get measured ahead of time where a large piece like a sectional or a wardrobe is involved.
Move-in day condition reports
Many Triangle apartment communities ask for photos of hallway and elevator condition before and after a move, to avoid disputes over scuffed paint. We take those photos as a normal part of the job.
Floor and door-frame protection go up in common areas as well as inside your own unit, since damage in a hallway is billed the same way as damage inside the apartment.
Move-out coordination with a new lease
A lot of apartment moves in the Triangle involve a move-out inspection at the old place on the same day the new lease starts, which leaves a tight window to hand back keys and get the truck to the second address.
We plan the route and the loading order around that overlap, so the old unit gets emptied and inspected on schedule while the new one is already being unloaded.
