Downtown Apex and its narrow lots
The historic blocks around downtown Apex have small lots, on-street parking, and sometimes no driveway at all. We plan for a shorter carry distance from the truck and bring extra floor protection for the older hardwood common in these homes.
Street parking permits or a temporary loading zone sometimes need to be arranged with the town ahead of a move day here.
Newer subdivisions
South and west of downtown, newer subdivisions built in the last decade tend to have HOAs with their own move-in rules, including hours and a request to keep the truck off the grass.
These homes are typically larger, and we size the crew for the extra square footage rather than assuming every Apex move is the same scope.
Families moving for the schools
A good number of Apex moves happen around the start of the school year, as families relocate within the Triangle to be closer to a particular school zone. That means late summer is our busiest stretch here, and booking three to four weeks out is worth doing.
We also see families moving from an apartment into their first Apex house, which usually means a bigger crew and truck than the old place required.
Heat and timing near US-1
Wide streets and newer subdivisions near the highway mean very little shade in July. We start early, keep the truck closed between loads, and schedule water breaks through the day so the crew stays sharp on a hot afternoon.
Getting around Apex on move day
US-1 splits the town in a way that shapes how we route a truck between an old address and a new one on the other side. We factor that crossing into the time estimate rather than treating every Apex-to-Apex move as identical.
During the afternoon commute, the roads nearest the highway back up, so an early or midday loading window usually beats a four o'clock start.
Downtown Apex also closes streets for a farmers market and occasional festivals, so we check the calendar before confirming a weekend date for anyone near Salem Street.
